Papers and correspondence relating to the efforts of Anna G. de Neufville Evans of Natchez, Miss. concerning the claim of her grandfather, John de Neufville, against the U.S. government for supplies and services rendered to the Continental Army. Continuing the efforts of her father, her brother Leonard, and her mother Anna Margaret de Neufville Stoughton, Evans's attempt to secure payment included a petition to Congress which resulted in a resolution supporting restitution. Evans's and her family's correspondents and supporters included Albert Gallatin Brown, Robert R. Livingston, Samuel Shethar Phelps, and Elisha Whittlesey. Other papers include the wills and estate inventories of John de Neufville, Don Juan Stoughton, and Anna de Neufville Stoughton of Cambridge, Mass.
